Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer. We're looking for an individual who is passionate about innovation and developing a cutting-edge product that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

General Dynamics’ Senior User Experience (UX) Designer is here to ensure GDMS products are designed for optimized user performance and safety. In this role you will provide product design and human factors & usability responsibilities for new product development and contribute to usability improvements for current products. You will also work closely with teammates in User Experience and Engineering to understand business requirements and drive a user-centered design process that includes research activities and iterative prototype design.

• A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a design research-related field: interaction, industrial or product design, psychology, human factors or a related field or the equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years of experience designing, executing, and reporting
• Good working knowledge of 2-D and 3-D CAD tools and software packages for product design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g. Axure, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, 3DStudioMax, Siemens Jack, PTC Creo/Solid works
• A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design
• Department of Defense security clearance is preferred at time of hire, but not required.
