The smells of fresh-Batch Cooked food in the kitchen. The clang of pots, pans, and dinnerware as the anticipation of a rush puts you in the zone. You quickly take initiative to ensure the happiness of those who are dependent on you. Does this sound like a scenario that you would take pride in? Do you strive to turn your love of Batch Cooking into your career? We are now looking to hire Batch Cooks who possess flexibility and rare dedication to the kitchen. Batch Cooks prepare, season, and craft dishes. They may also order supplies, keep records, and plan and price menu items in addition to other responsibilities. A Batch Cook is passionate about his or her craft - making food for an event or restaurant is at the heart of this position.

Responsibilities Include:


•
Actively supports all employees and customers in a positive, respectful manner

• Possesses a willingness to work harmoniously with others to get a job done
• Cooks various types of fruit filling products on a kettle within scheduled times
• Comprehends and follows Allergen procedures
• Works independently without close supervision; also willing to work in a team environment
• Actively aware of product quality and value while working safely
• Records and completes traceability documentation
• Finds and records vendors and lot codes accurately
• Operates steam gauges, cool down valves, liquid sugar controls, and water meters
• Reads and follows prepared formulas and directions
• Gathers and returns ingredients and supplies
• Maintains well organized, detailed, and legible production documents
• Troubleshoots or communicates information re: equipment/machinery
• Uses tools and measuring devices
• Follows supervisors directions
• Follows Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
• (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures
• (SSOPs)
• Reads and understands instruments like thermometers, gauges, scales, etc.
•
Duties include following detailed formulas, paying attention to ingredients/quantities
included in each batch, recording lot codes, and ensuring accurate cooking times andtemperatures to achieve top quality and traceability.
•
Batch Cooks may assist in other areas as
needed.


Qualifications:

• Able to speak, read and write the English language
• Has basic math comprehension and skills
• Able to understand and follow direction and instructions
• High school education or higher
• Able to print neat and legibly
• Able to work in busy, wet production environment
• Must pass drug/physical screenings and background check
• Has reliable transportation
• Able and willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Hair nets, beard nets, bump cap, gloves, goggles, rubber boots, rain gear or other PPE as
• required by position
• Works assigned shift and with overtime as needed
• Assists in other departments as needed/requested
• Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Frequently stoops, bends, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs, reaches, twists, grasps, and makes
• repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties
• Climbs at least six stair steps to reach mezzanine work area
• Lifts, carries, pushes, and/or pulls at least 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout shift
• Pushes and/or pulls 120 lbs. as needed
