The opportunity

Descartes is looking for a tenacious and eager, leadership-minded marketing guru to manage end-to-end marketing strategy and execution in our fast-growing eCommerce line of business. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, North America, this senior-level marketing role is crucial to the continued success and growth of our market leading suite of eCommerce shipping and fulfillment solutions used by thousands to get orders where they need to go, on time with less effort and cost. You will collaborate with a team of internal solution stakeholders and domain experts to devise and drive marketing strategy, planning, and execution with dedicated marketing resources.

What you bring:

The hands-on experience. You have 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing. You excel at both strategy and execution, and you have stakeholder management experience. You have experience performing market research activities, synthesizing data, and providing compelling outputs of your findings to drive decision-making. You have expertise in demand generation, engaging prospects through a multi-prong approach. Ideally, you have exposure to eCommerce (post-sales), supply chain management, logistics operations, or technology. You have experience in end-to-end marketing from account-based marketing strategy, sales enablement, competitive analysis, and content development to digital marketing, including social media, SEO, demand generation, and email campaigns. You understand how to identify target audiences and devise campaigns that engage, inform and motivate action.

The analytical mindset and the creative spirit. You have strong, evidence-based decision-making abilities, the capacity and motivation to research, analyze performance metrics, and present solutions. You have excellent judgment and can make thoughtful decisions as a creative problem solver. You have ideas, and you know how to bring them to life in a measurable, impactful way.
The technical toolbox. You are highly proficient with a CRM, a CMS, marketing automation tools, and analytics tools. You are tech-savvy and can get up to speed on the systems we use, the products we build, and the business problems they solve, diving in deep to truly understand how to engage prospects and existing clients.

The collaboration skills. You are a relationship builder who is self-aware and loves reaching across teams to gain insights, information, and expertise for the content you are working on. You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
The leadership ability. You operate with and instill in your team a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics. You can lead and guide a team providing coaching and direction, managing individuals' goals, performance, and professional development. You can strategically and collaboratively apply your industry insights to contribute to the growth and success of the team and the marketing function of your business line.

The drive. You are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, no matter how big or small. You can work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling several projects with a spirit of flexibility and a positive outlook.

The flexibility. We foster a remote work environment. You are willing to travel domestically and internationally on occasion when it is safe to do so again.
