You probably already know that the Android OS has been implemented by cell phone developers for pretty much every single major cellular company. You've probably read the articles that say the "Google phones" are highly competitive against the other smart phones out there. It is definitely true that the Google phones are getting to be more popular every day. This is probably because the phones being released now are modeled after the smart phones that have become popular. This shows that Google pays attention to trends and buying practices and tries to give the public what it wants. The following are some great facts about the Android OS that you might not yet know.
Did you know that people who use phones that run the Android OS (operating system) are less likely to pay for applications than users of the iPhone? A recent study shows that about fifty percent of all iPhone users will happily pay for applications they cannot find for free. The same studies illustrate that roughly twenty percent of Android phone owners are okay with paying for applications. This could change as the Android market's paid app section grows but, for now, Android users are more thrifty than iPhone users. That might not seem like something to boast over but for some people it is very important! Usually phones that use the Android operating system are easier to afford than the other smart phones that are out there. Blackberries and iPhones run in the multiple hundreds of dollars ranges. At the same time, the cell phone providers are letting their customers get free Android phone upgrades when they renew their contracts. This means that you have all of the smart phone options that other phone owners have but you won't spend as much money. Allowing their customers to save money is a great way to look better than the competitors. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars if that can be avoided?
It is Android's multi-tasking ability and the fact that users can access more than one app at a time that makes the Android phone just as popular as the iPhone. The iPhone can operate any of the base features simultaneously: phone, iPod, internet, or one of the apps that you have downloaded. That's just about all it can do as far as multi-tasking is concerned. With the Android phones, on the other hand, users can easily run their Twitter apps right next to their note taking apps (to use one example).
The Android phones are globally used. Many people already own Android OS phones but are unaware. Many phones are already using an Android Operating System whereas the iPhone and Blackberry phones are no yet using the Android OS.
After it's premier in 2007 most cellular providers began requiring the use of open source for many devices and began implementing the Android OS. Have you purchased a new phone since 2007?
